Viraj, son of popular singer, voice artist and actor S.N.
Surendhar, is foraying into films with a movie poetically titled, Mozhivadhu
Yaadhenil. The movie is about friendship and there's no hardcore romance in it.
Directed by Gopalakrishnan, the movie has Rajan, Riyaz, Tej, Meenu, Karthika
and Lasya in the lead. Viraj is already a known face as he was a child artiste.
He has acted as a younger-version of Vikram in Shankar's Anniyan and in
Chennai-28 besides a few other films. "So, facing the arc lights was not
new to me. After I completed my Visual communication, I got quite a few offers,
but my dad was particular about the script as he was looking for something that
had scope for me to perform. That's how we chose MY. I have also learnt music
formally and have sung a chorus for AR Rahman sir and Mani Sharma sir when I
was young," Viraj reveals. Surendhar is Shoba Chandrashekar's brother, and
thus, Ilayathalapathy Vijay is Viraj's first cousin.But Viraj says that he is
inspired by Ajith's and Vijay Sethupathy's acting. Nithyan Karthik who garnered
rave reviews for his new sound approach in the movie, Vengayam, composes the
music.
