Selvakumar,
who has been in the industry for about 20 years now, made his
directorial debut with the comedy ‘Onbadhule Guru’. The film starred
Vinay and Lakshmi Rai in the leads.
Vijay, who wanted to be
supportive to his loyal associate, had even taken part in the audio
launch of the film. However, the film did not fare well at the
box-office.
In what appears to be another kind gesture on the
actor’s part, Vijay has agreed to be part of Selvakumar’s next, in a bid
to help Selvakumar’s floundering career.
Behind woods has quoted
Selvakumar as saying, “Yes, Thameen movies and I will be jointly
producing Vijay’s next movie. We are also planning to begin the project
after AR Murugadoss’ film.”
Reports say the yet-to-be-titled
project will go on floors by the end of 2014. Other details about the
cast and crew are yet to be revealed.
Vijay is currently awaiting
the release of his action-entertainer ‘Jilla’ which is all set for a
box-office battle with Ajith’s ‘Veeram’ on Jan 10.
The actor is expected to begin work on director A R Murugadoss’s next
soon. Vijay and Murugadoss’ last release was ‘Thupakki’, which became a
sensational hit, so naturally, the expectations are already sky-high for
the duo’s next.
