It’s
been a trend in recent times for music directors and singers to try
their hand at acting too. Singer V.V. Prassanna confirms that he is
playing a prominent role in the film, Adhithi, which is directed by Bharathan, whose last directorial attempt was Azhagiya Thamizh Magan
with Ilayathalapahy Vijay. “I loved my character in the script and so I
grabbed it immediately. Also, I have always had a passion for acting,
and I don’t want to let it go. In fact, every shot of mine was okayed in
the first take, and the director appreciated me for my acting skills. I
have also sung a song in this film,” says Prassanna. Adhithi stars Nandha in the lead role and Ananya plays the female lead. Bharadwaj has composed music.
When
asked how tough it was for him to turn actor from singer, Prassanna
says, “I am a dubbing artist too, so I don’t find acting difficult. I
guess singing made me a better actor. Also, I do many stage
performances, and television shows, so facing the camera didn’t scare me
at all.”
V.V. Prassanna, who is listening to many scripts, says
he may soon play the protagonist in his next film. “I am waiting for a
good script though,” he says.
He is busy bringing out his independent album whose music he has composed.
