Looks like finally, fans of the svelte beauty Shriya Saran
who has been MIA for quite some time is now back in the fold in K'town! And
guess who has roped in her to play the leading lady? None other than National
Award winner Bala who is known for being choosy about his heroines. If close
sources are to be believed, Shriya who was on a long hiatus (with Rowthiram
being her last major film in Tamil) will be playing the lead opposite
actor/filmmaker Sasikumar in Bala's direction. Bala's leading ladies always have
a solid role to perform and we hope Shriya's is no different. It is a common knowledge that Shriya is an
accomplished dancer. Grapevine has it that the film is based on Karagattam, the
pop-ular folk dance of Tamil Nadu. Apart from Shriya's dancing skills, we hope
that Bala would extract the histrionic talents of the Shaft actress as well.
The icing on the cake is that maestro IlaiyaraWa will be compos-ing the music
for the film. Interestingly, Ilaiyaraaja has also composed the music in the
blockbuster Karagattakaran in the past. Can he repeat the magic? Watch this
