pulling off a casting coup of sorts, director Pandiraj's
cast ex-flames Simbu and Nayanthara. Naturally, the question on everyone's mind
was if there was any tension or ill will between the stars, who had parted on bitter
terms. The director however says that both the actors have put their
differences aside while shooting for the film. "Nayanthara and STR were
very professional. Their screen chem-istry, this time around, is something
refresh-ing. Their focus remained primarily on work, and did not let anything
else come in the way" Pandiraj also reveals that he has chosen the title
Idhu Namma Aalu for the film. Interestingly, this is also the title of a
yester-year film, written and acted by Bhagyaraj. "I am currently talking
to Bhagyaraj sir among others to obtain the title legally. Everything seems to
be going in the positive direction so far. I should be making an official
announcement soon. The director says that the theme of the film is a
"heart-warming love story but not the usual, run-of-the-mill subject.
People will be able to relate to the incidents in the film to their own
life." Actor Soon, who is currently in demand after his role in
Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam, essays the role of STR's friend in this film.
Pandiraj reveals that although Simbu was initially apprehensive about working
with Soon, things changed once they began shooting. "Santhanam usually
shares screen space with STR, therefore he was apprehesive about the chemistry
that he and Soon i would share," says Pandiraj, adding, "However, on
the first day of the shoot, Simbu told me that he thoroughly enjoyed working with
Soon i and that their combination is surely going to be a laugh riot."
There was also specula-tions that Pandiraj will also be roping in Hansika
(another one of Simbu's exes) for this flick — which he denies as outright
rumours. "It was reported in an online web-sites but it's completely
false. It is just going to be Simbu and Nayan."
