After the astounding success of Jilla, vet-eran actor
Mohanlal has reportedly been flooded with offers from K'town. The latest on the
grapevine is, that the actor will be reprising Naseeruddin Shah's role in the
Tamil remake of the 2010 Hindi hit Ishqiya. The Bollywood cult film also
starred Vidya Balan and Arshad Warsi in lead roles. Rumour has it that Arya
will likely be roped in to play Arshad Warsi's character The producers are
likely to cast the southern beauty Lakshmi Rai in the female lead. When the popular
actress was contacted, she revealed, "It's too early to comment. But
having said that, I 'have' been approached for the Ishqiya remake. We've just
had a tele-phonic conversation and we're yet to sit down and discuss the script
in detail. Nothing has been finalised as yet. But yes, if all goes well I'd
love to do the role as the original had a very strong female lead
character" Sources reveal that, the film will be
re-oriented a lit-tle to suit local sensibilities and will be apparently dubbed
in Malayalam. Watch this space for further developments.
